Getting to Vassiliki, Greece

Vassiliki, Greece offers a great combination of beautiful beaches, outdoor recreation (see "Activities in Vassiliki, Greece" article), quaint villages, and delicious food! Vassiliki is on the island of Lefkada (also called Lefkas) on the western coast of Greece. Don’t get confused though because there is the town of Lefkada on the island of Lefkada. The town of Lefkada is located on the northern end of the island, and Vassiliki is on the southern end. From here on out, when we refer to “Lefkada,” we are referring to the town.
We hope that you’ve looked at the pictures and information on our Co-Retreats' website about Vassiliki, and you’re ready to start planning your trip! The good news is that Vassiliki is not that difficult to reach. In this article, we’ve outlined the three primary routes that travelers use to reach Vassiliki. Greece.
Visitors generally fly into one of three airports: Preveza, Corfu, or Athens. You’ll most likely start planning your trip by figuring out what airline(s) fly from your city of origin to one of the three airports. Airlines do make changes to their routes, but as of May 2017, the following airlines fly into each of these airports.

Once you arrive in Greece, ground transportation is available from all three airports in order to reach Vassiliki. We’ll outline the options from each of the airports.
GETTING FROM PREVEZA AIRPORT TO VASSILIKI
Preveza is the closest of the three airports to Vassiliki. It is located just north of Lefkada island, and is about a 60 km drive to Vassiliki. Options for getting to Vassiliki include:
Hire a taxi to take you from the airport to Vassiliki. The cost is approximately 90 Euros.
Take the local bus from the airport to the town of Lefkada, and transfer at the bus station to a bus to Vassiliki.
Hire a car at the airport, and drive to Vassiliki.
GETTING FROM CORFU INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT TO VASSILIKI
The Corfu International Airport is located on the island of Corfu. It is about 190 km from Vassiliki, and requires a ferry or flight to get off the island. Corfu is a very popular destination, and is a great area to explore if you have a few extra days. Options from Corfu include:
Take a taxi into Corfu Town, and then take a ferry to Igoumenitsa. From Igoumenitsa, you can take the KTEL bus to Lefkada town. The bus ride is about two hours. At the bus station in Lefkada town, transfer to the local bus to Vassiliki. Due to ferry and flight times, this option typically requires an overnight in Corfu. If you’re interested, explore Corfu for a few days before continuing on to Vassiliki.
Fly with Sky Express from Corfu to Preveza, and then refer to the options for the Preveza airport.
GETTING FROM ATHENS INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT TO VASSILIKI
Located on the eastern side of Greece, Athens is about 430 km from Vassiliki. It is a longer journey by ground to fly into Athens, but it does allow you to see much more of the country. The options from Athens International include:

Vassiliki is a fabulous destination for water sports, relaxing, and exploring Greek history and culture! The journey from all three airports is safe and scenic. If you fly in or out of Corfu or Athens, you can also combine your stay with some exploring in those areas as well.
