Vassiliki Bay
The physical conditions of the bay make it an ideal place to learn to windsurf. The bay is part of the Ionian Sea, and the water is clear and clean. The bay is generally calm in the mornings with very little wave action during the beginner lessons. For the most part, the bottom is sandy, and has a gradual slope. During beginner lessons, you can generally see, and even touch, the bottom. And, there is no dangerous marine life known to reside in the bay. It is a safe place to learn to windsurf!
Climate and Weather in Vassiliki
Winds in the morning are typically light and onshore which are ideal for beginners. This means there is no risk of being “swept out to sea.” And when you’re ready for more of a challenge, the wind typically switches to cross shore and picks up in the afternoons to an ideal level for intermediate and advanced windsurfers. The temperature in June is generally between 25 – 29 °C (77 – 85 °F). Most guests find that they are comfortable windsurfing without a wetsuit, but they are available for rent should you desire one.

Club Vass has brand new equipment every season, and has a wide variety of boards and sails for you to try. They offer 5-day windsurfing courses (beginner, improver, intermediate, and advanced levels), private 1-hour windsurfing sessions with renowned instructors, and daily and weekly windsurfing equipment rentals. The centre has multiple simulators to allow instructors to demonstrate techniques, and for you to practice skills on land. The
simulators provide a great opportunity for repetition to commit steps to muscle memory. And to ensure the safety of all guests, Club Vass has a lifeguard tower and safety rescue boats.
